Malaysia Considers Sale of Stake in Carmaker

I read in the newspaper that our government was considering a sale of the manufacturing arm of the country's biggest carmaker, Proton Holdings.

Recently, there a newspaper has reported that the Proton Holdings was exploring an alliance with Volkswagen.

"It's an option we are considering at the moment," Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as said.

The government may have agreed to allow foreigners to own 51 percent of the manufacturing operations, and that Volkswagen was a potential partner.

Hm, so then we cannot call Proton as Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional again because there is no more meaning for "national". Eh, sebelum ni pun, Proton banyak dah pakai teknologi Mitsubishi kan?
