Make Me Firm With My Decision

Starbucks Bellevue, Nashville. 1230 pm.

"So how are you doing?"

"Alhamdulillah, I'm doing fine. How about you?" I replied.

"Well, I already waited for you for almost an hour. Where have you been? Did you get lost again?"

Yes, I lost again while driving today before managed to make it here. 2 days ago, I was having trouble to find one of the buildings at Tennessee State University, and as the result, I missed the lecture of Miracles in Quran.

"I was a little bit confused with these 2 roads. At the beginning I took this road that went straight to Old Hickory and it was endless! I did not find any single sign of Bellevue. So, I turned back and took the other roads. It took me about half an hour." I tried to explain my situation.

He looked at me. Full of concerned.

"But, Alhamdulillah, finally I made it."

We together went to the counter, order some drinks. I preferred a white vanilla mocha while he had a cappuccino. There was a table not really far from the counter, and we sat there. I opened my laptop, and he started to write something in his notes.

Then it was a silence.

"Actually, we want to hire you."

Want to what? I really could not believe my ears.

"Yes, we want you to work with us," he continued.

I did not know what to say. I just kept my mouth shut. I still want to know more details about this news.

"Well, don't worry to much. This is just a part time job for you. You do not have to go to office, you can work from your room, probably spend some hours during the weekends and we understand that you are still a student."

Yeah, my academic is my priority.

"But, I think so far you already did the job outlines. But probably there will be 3-4 more things that you should do. InsyaAllah I think it will be fine with you."

I still kept my mouth shut.

"We will pay you xxx a month."

I was not really interested to know about the payment. For me, doing something that I really like is more important than having a lot of money. Or getting paid.

"So what do you thing? Are you interested?"

It did not take me an hour to make the decision. For some reasons, I answered the offer with my heart. I think that's the best for me, for my future and for me to be a better person.

Oo Allah, make me firm with my decision.

amar,
accepting a job is not the end of this world. start early - to LEARN - is very good. but remember - just to LEARN. payment is bonus.
