Banu Malizi Suhur Wakeup Call Campaign
As-salaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
Narrated Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (may peace be upon him) said, "Take suhur as there is a blessing in it." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #31, Hadith #146, Sahih Muslim, Book #6, Hadith #2412).
Eating suhur (predawn meal) contains many blessings and the Prophet Muhammad, (may peace be upon him), ordered us to do take it, forbade us from leaving it and told us to take suhur to make a distinction between our fast and the fast of the People of the Book. Also from the above hadith, we have learned that suhur is the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (may peace be upon him) even if one takes a small quantity of food. This meal is blessed and one of the wisdoms behind it is that it maintains one's energy and vitality during fasting.
Here are some tips for sleeping habits
1. Go to sleep by 10:00pm (no later than 11:00pm)
2. When going to sleep, make wudhu (ablution), and the intention to wake up for tahajjud or suhur, recite the last three surahs, ayatul kursi and the make the dua' "Bismika Allahuma amoota wa ahya"
3. Qaylula (lunch time powernap between Dhuhr and Asr, when possible).
